Following surgery, side effects such as dry eyes, swelling, bruising, and sensitivity to light may occur, but will fade within 10 days.

If a bump is being removed, the excess cartilage is scraped away. Depending on the individual, rhinoplasty takes one to two hours to complete, and complete recovery takes up to a month.
